As an artist, it was an incredible experience to see my work, "Rebirth," exhibited at the Canvas International Art Fair 2024 in Venice. Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello, with its rich history and stunning architecture, provided an awe-inspiring setting, creating a truly unique environment to present and experience art. The exhibition, Mixing Identities, felt like an exploration of the shared journey that we all take in understanding who we are, and I felt honoured to have my work included alongside such a variety of incredible pieces.
"Rebirth" is a deeply personal piece that explores transformation and renewal, themes that align closely with the concept of the exhibition. Through this work, I wanted to represent the fragmented yet harmonious nature of self-discovery, expressing how our identities are constantly reformed through interactions, experiences, and change. The human body—its textures, movement, and connections—serves as both a symbol and vessel of transformation. The historic surroundings of Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello enhanced the interplay between the old and the new, between identity inherited and identity reshaped, which lies at the core of "Rebirth."

One of the most moving aspects of this exhibition was seeing how each artist interpreted the concept of identity. James Hensby's black-and-white photographs, capturing fleeting moments, reminded me of the fragility of identity in time—how every passing second changes who we are. His work encouraged viewers to slow down and consider the moment, to feel their own evolution. Standing next to "Rebirth" were Franca Fabrizio’s vibrant canvases, filled with expressive color. Her approach—juxtaposing abstract and figurative elements—reflected the complexity of identity, where different aspects of ourselves sometimes coexist and sometimes collide. Another highlight was Ana Violeta Horta’s work. Her use of natural eco-pigments and intricate patterns depicted the unfolding of one's identity as a continuous journey—one defined not only by struggle but also by resilience and innovation. Her pieces celebrated growth as a beautiful, natural process, resonating deeply with my concept of "Rebirth," which aims to express hope, transformation, and the beauty of emergence.
The Mixing Identities exhibition was a reminder of how art connects us, how it reveals the multiple facets of our humanity. Each piece—whether photograph, painting, or installation—invited viewers to consider their own evolving identities in a shared space of cultural dialogue. I am incredibly grateful to ITSLIQUID Group and ACIT Venice for curating such an insightful exhibition and for allowing me to be a part of this celebration of contemporary art during the Venice Biennale. The venue, the atmosphere, and the convergence of diverse artistic voices made this an unforgettable experience for me as an artist, and, I hope, for all those who attended.
